Plenty more fish in the sea
Description
Through playful scale and precise craftsmanship, Plenty More Fish in the Sea invites reflection on the seduction of convenience, the fragility of ecosystems, and the silent accumulation of loss.
Displayed within a clear dome, this miniature scene mirrors the growing tide of plastic waste that overwhelms our oceans. Tiny figures fishing into an ocean of discarded plastic, evoking a haunting image of abundance replaced by waste.
The work speaks quietly yet urgently about the illusion of infinite natural resources and the devastating cost of our throwaway culture. Made from reclaimed chopsticks and used plastic soy sauce fish, Plenty More Fish in the Sea re-imagines a familiar phrase in the context of environmental collapse. It stands as both a memorial to what has been lost and a stark reminder of the fragile balance we continue to disrupt.
Let’s recognize the depth of our impact and take action before it’s too late.
